Four in trouble for murder in Rukungiri

The police have arrested four people in connection with the murder of a 67 year old man in Rukungiri.

The deceased has been identified as Begumanya Leo a resident of Nyakatembe A cell, Bwambara s/c in Rukungiri District.

The suspects are; Tushabe Juliet, Saturday Steven, Namara Joselin and Katushabe Juliet.

According to Elly Maate the police spokesperson for Kigezi region, the deceased was sleeping in his house with one Katushabe Juliet his lover.

However at about mid night, Namara Joselin the neighbor allegedly heard a silent fight and later heard the deceased mentioning the name Steven three times.

This prompted her to find out what was happening. She reportedly rushed and found the deceased’s door wide open and nobody was available. She then called another neighbors, a one Steven Saturday who went with her to check inside the deceased’s house and found him dead with multiple cuts on the head and the neck.

They called other residents including the c/person of Omukashenyi t/centre who in turn reported to the police.

The case was reported to cps Rukungiri, Scene was visited, the killing panga was recovered and exhibited, postmortem done. The suspects were arrested to assist police in investigations.
