Canadian National commits suicide by shooting bugolobi

Police at Jinja Road are investigating a suspected suicide by shooting of Alzahir Wissanji, a Canadian national, that happened today 29th July 2021 at around 12:25PM in Bugolobi, Kampala City.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the KMP Deputy police spokesperson says that a security guard who was guarding the premises where Wissanji was staying, told police that he heard a bullet shot and ran inside only to find that the deceased had locked himself inside the bathroom.

He knocked the door open only to find him in the bathroom in a pool of blood.

He alleged used a privately owned Pump Action. A bullet cartridge has been recovered on the floor.

Owoyesigyire says the deceased’s body has since been conveyed to KCCA Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem as investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances that led to the shooting continue.

“We have since recovered the gun and exhibited it for analysis. Investigations are still ongoing.”
