Businessman Lwasa in trouble for forging signatures of Energy Ministry officials

Police have arrested and are holding local businessman Emmanuel Lwasa at Jinja road police station for forging licensing documents for the sale of gold.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO KMP, Lwasa was arrested from his office at Najjanankumbi on Monday evening for allegedly forging the documents of the Director of Geological Survey and Mines under the ministry of energy and mineral development Ms Alaba Agnes.

He is also in trouble for forging the signature of Ms Grace Lajwe the principal chemist directorate of geological survey.

Lwasa is alleged to have fronted these documents to a Spanish company for a gold deal amounting to 540kgs, but the company did due diligence to confirm whether his license was genuine, leading to his capture.

Owoyesigyire says the police mineral protection unit is still hunting for Lwasa’s accomplices.
