43-year-old man murders wife, turns himself in to police

The police at Kiboga CPS have in custody a 43-year-old man identified as Byayo Ibra a resident of Kiwanguzi LC1, Kiboga town council in Kiboga district, for allegedly murdering his wife Nakigude Ruth 47 years.

Asp Racheal Kawala the Pro Wamala says that preliminary investigations indicate that at about 4:00 am this morning, the suspect Byayo picked a quarrel with his wife which led him to assault her severely with an axe.

The suspect upon realizing the extent of his action reported himself to the police. Unfortunately, the victim died as she was being rushed to Kiboga hospital.

Police visited the scene of the crime and recovered exhibits of a hammer and axe used in the crime.

The suspect is currently detained at Kiboga CPS, while the deceased’s body has been conveyed to Kiboga hospital pending a postmortem.

Kawala says investigations are ongoing.
