Horror as UPDF Soldier shoots self dead

Horror struck Bunyangabu district on Friday when a Uganda People’s Defense Forces- UPDF soldier shot himself dead.

The deceased has been identified as Private Godfrey Nandasaba. He reportedly took his own life from inside his army tent at Kisogi-Rwimi army detach in Kabonero Sub County. 

Capt George Musinguzi the UPDF Mountain Division Spokesperson says the incident happened at around 6pm under unclear circumstances. 

Colleagues suddenly heard bullets from Nandasaba’s tent and when they rushed there, they found that he had shot himself in the head and was already dead. 

Investigations into circumstances under which the deceased cut his life short are underway and the army already believes it could have been as a result of a family misunderstanding.
