COVID-19 death toll now at 114 following two new deaths in Sironko District
Uganda’s COVID-19 deaths now stand at 114 following the death of 2 people in Sironko District.
According to the Ministry of health, 228 new cases were confirmed from the samples tested on Sunday 01 November 2020, bringing the number of cumulative confirmed cases to12,971.
Case breakdown of 227 contacts and alerts: Kampala (126), Buikwe (21), Wakiso (12), Soroti (8), Mityana (7), Mbale (6), Kasese (6) and Isingiro (6).
Mayuge (6), Jinja (11), Busia (5), Ntungamo (2), Kabarole (2), Kamuli (1), Bundibugyo (1), and Masaka (1).
Others are; Kaberamaido (1), Tororo (1), Moroto (1), Nebbi (1), Kibuku (1), Luwero (1) and 1 truck driver from Malaba.
This comes at a time when the ministry is closing down quarantine centres and some treatment centres. The cases are increasing on a daily, because most Ugandans have also ignored calls by the Ministry to wash their hands, sanitize and wear masks as well as maintain social distance.
