Kiboga Tragedy- Two children beheaded, some body parts still missing
The territorial police of Kiboga are investigating a distressing incident that occurred on 03/04/2024, involving the murder of two innocent children identified as Nantongo Sylvia, aged 5, and Nakasumba Esther, aged 2.
According to SP Racheal Kawala, the PRO for the Wamala Region, preliminary findings suggest that the children’s mother, Nakate Rebecca, was working in a maize plantation at Hassan’s farm in Magi village, Kapeke sub-county, Kiboga district, accompanied by her two children on that fateful day.
At midday, Nakate instructed the children to return home for lunch. Later on, she also decided to head home and join her children but she was met with an empty house. Despite her frantic search efforts, the children could not be found prompting her to report a case of disappearing at Kiboga CPS.
On the morning of 04/04/2024, a discovery was made near the Kyato Kiboga highway road junction – the upper body of Nakasumba Esther 2 years old, tragically missing its head. A disturbing note found beneath the body part directed authorities to the location of the children’s severed heads.
In response, police led by the DPC Kiboga mobilized, launching a thorough investigation. With painstaking efforts, the heads of the deceased children as identified by their father were located under a kiln (tanulu) of burnt bricks near a Born-Again Church in Kasenene village.Kawala says relevant statements have been recorded.
The canine led police to the home of Ssentongo Sulaiman, a suspected witch doctor The recovered body parts have been taken to Kiboga hospital for postmortem as investigations into the matter continue with hope to recover the remaining body parts and to arrest the killers.Kawala urged parents to keep an eye on their children at all times.
