Security Guard gunned down in broad daylight

A joint security team has launched a manhunt for an assailant who shot and killed a security guard at Advance Smart Microfinance in Wobulenzi town.

According to ASP Lule Patrick the Ag. PRO Savannah, the police received a report from the Mayor of Wobulenzi at about 1:00 pm today, that there was a shooting where an assailant dressed like a lunatic shot a guard.

Lule says the police in Wobulenzi immediately responded to the scene and found the victim lying dead in a pool of blood.

The deceased has been identified as Odong Leon, 20 years a guard from Security Group Africa, SGA.

Lule says that the assailant fled the scene with the gun used in the shooting and also robbed the deceased’s gun.

The joint team has so far recovered some items suspected to belong to the assailant who fled to the valley.

“A case has been registered under Wob-CRB- 466/2022 and the forensic team has documented the scene pending further investigation. We urge the general public to remain calm as the situation is under control and all efforts are underway to arrest the assailant,” says Lule.
