7 suspects arrested in connection to theft of animals in Kiruhura

The police detectives in Kiruhura District are holding seven suspects in connection to the rampant theft of cattle and goats.

The 7 were arrested during ongoing operations to end the theft of animals in the area.

SP Kasasira Samson the PRO Rwizi Region identified the suspects as;

Nuwamanya Fred aged 27 years old a herdsman & resident of Rwobusisi cell, Mucuncu parish, Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District, Ssentongo Jamada, 37years, a peasant and resident of Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District and Kanyesige Emmanuel aged 40 years, a peasant farmer resident of Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District.

The other suspects are; Ndyaguma Moses aged 45 years old, a peasant farmer and resident of Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District, Bihabwayo Dan aged 39years, a peasant and resident of Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District, ByamukamaYorokamo aged 44 years, a peasant and resident of Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District and Rwabugiri Gerald aged 50years, a peasant and resident of Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District.

It is alleged that on the night of 07/10/2023 at an unknown time, the suspects stole goats belonging to Nabimanya Frank from their shelter at Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni subcounty Kiruhura District.

On the morning of 08/10/2023, Nabimanya made a report at Kinoni Police Station where inquiries commenced leading to the arrest of the seven suspects and the recovery of two goats.

The seven suspects are currently detained at CPS Kiruhura Districts and the case file is being processed to be taken to the Resident State Attorney for perusal, legal guidance and possible sanctioning for the suspects to appear in court.
