25 year old man dies instantly after jumping off 3rd floor of Sky Light Hotel in Mbarara

Police in Mbarara City is investigating a case of suicide that occurred at sky light hotel on Tuesday night at 1900hrs where a Nuwahereza Cosmas a 25-year-old a waiter with the same hotel, jumped from the third floor of the hotel and died instantly.

According to the manager of the hotel, Muyambi Aggrey, the deceased requested for time off to go home to sort domestic matters on 05/02/2024 which permission was granted on 06/02/2024 since the deceased works during the night shift

Nuwahereza went to Rukungiri his home District and later reported back to work at 1800hrs.

SP Kasasira Samson the PRO Rwizi says that reports from the witnesses indicate that the deceased came dressed in his work uniform, proceeded to the counter and asked for a bottle of pure heaven wine that he had clients to serve.

After receiving the bottle, Nuwahereza moved up to the third floor jumped off and died instantly.

Kasasira says the body of the deceased was conveyed to the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem CCTV camera footage showing the incident viewed and pending retrieval.

Inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
