Woman Arrested for Personation and Trespass at Kabira Country Club

The Police in KMP East and Kira Road CPS have in custody a woman identified as Nanteza Joan for personation and criminal trespass. She allegedly trespassed into one of the conference halls at Kabira Country Club and pretended to be a participant in a workshop organized by ACODE. She registered herself as Abuje Sharon, a name not on the participants list.

SCP Enanga Fred, Police Spokesperson, stated that the suspect is believed to be part of a group of thieves who target organized workshops and conferences at different hotels, stealing from clients or informing their accomplices about potential targets. They typically target smartphones, bags, iPads, and laptops during break time, photo sessions, and at the closure of workshops. Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed she was a student of Environmental Studies, Evening classes at Makerere University, a claim later proven false.

“We suspect university students were another group of targeted persons. It was further established that on the 29th of January 2024, the suspect attended a workshop at Riders Hotel in Seeta under different names and stole a Samsung Tablet with an installed Health Information System Program. It was recovered from her. Expansive investigations are underway to locate other accomplices and recover stolen items,” said Enanga.

He commended the security team at Kabira Country Club for their vigilance and hard work in combating such thieves on their premises. He added that anyone engaging in deceptive practices like this should know they will not go undetected and will be held accountable.
