Unknown assailants attack, injure Moroto CAO at his home

The police in Kapchorwa are investigating an attack on Mr. Chelimo Alex, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Moroto Municipality which occurred at his residence in Arokwo cell, Tongwo ward, West division, Kapchorwa municipality, Kapchorwa District.

According to Fred Mark Chesang the PRO Sipi police region, the attack took place around 9:00 pm on January 14, 2024. Mr. Chelimo was assaulted by unidentified armed individuals who forcibly entered his home, armed with pangas and sticks.

Chesang adds that the attackers cut his left hand, leaving him injured. They also stole a television set and two mobile phones. The victim sought medical attention at Kapchorwa hospital, and his condition has since stabilized. As of now, police have not made any arrests, but Chesang says that investigations are underway.
