Two killed in Mityana motorcycle accident
The police in Mityana are investigating the cause of an accident that claimed two lives.
The accident happened on Tuesday 20/02/2024 at about 0630hrs at Pamujjugu swamp along Mityana – Mubende road in Mityana district involving Motocycle UFC 682K Bajaj Boxer Red in Colour and UFB 842W Bajaj Boxer Red in Colour.
Both riders died on spot and have been identified as Kanyike Sudik 23 years, a resident of Kiyogani Village, Kalaangalo S/County, Mityana district and Walugembe Ronald 44 years, a resident of Nakasozi Village, Myanzi S/County, Kassanda district.
Racheal Kawala the PRO Wamala Region says that preliminary findings indicate that motorcycle Reg No.UFC 682K was riding from Mityana – Mubende road on reaching at Pamujjugu swamp lost control and collided with MC Reg No. UFB 842W that was riding from Mubende – Mityana direction causing death to both riders instantly.
The scene of crime was visited by officers and bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mityana Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
The cause of accident is suspected reckless driving by rider of motorcycle number UFC 682k Kanyike Sudik.
