Two fishermen arrested over suspected murder of missing truck driver

Police at Katwe are investigating a suspected murder of Magembe Tadeo, a 48-year-old truck driver.

Magembe had been reported missing at Katwe Police by his brother Balimutajjo Gerald on 30/07/2021.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO KMP, Police traced the phone records, leading to the arrest of two suspects, with whom the phone of the deceased was found.

The arrested suspects, both fishermen at Ggaba landing site claim that while they were with the driver, now presumed dead, he allegedly jumped off a boat.

However, the duo didn’t report this anywhere, raising suspicions that they could have murdered him.

Suspects are currently held at Katwe Police station as investigations go on.
