Tooro Hold On Express In A 4 Goal Clash
Uganda Premier League defending champions Express FC were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Tooro United in an early kickoff at Betway Muteesa II stadium Wankuluku.
The hosts hand a chance to take the lead in the 7th minute but they were denied by Tooro goalie Kenneth Lukyamuzi as he saved George Senkaaba’s volley.
After a goalless first half, the Red Eagles found the back of the net through Senkaaba who headed home Sadiq Nathan’s cross four minutes into the second half.
The visitors leveled the matters through Mwanje Hussein who scored from the spot after Express’s Issa Lumu fouled in the penalty area.
Too quick to create a difference, Musa Docka hit the back of the net off a corner kick to give Tooro the lead and it took a few seconds for Waswa Bbosa’s side to respond and deny Tooro a second win in a row.
“I am very happy for scoring two goals because I have been working for it,” goal scorer George Senkaaba shared with Express TV in a post match interview.
Joel Mutakubwa’s finger tip save in the 57th minute can’t go unsung.
Express FC are now third on the UPL table with 29 points, seven behind leaders Vipers Sc as Tooro remains bottom with eight.
