Teacher wanted for assaulting child to death

The police in Kisoro are hunting for Pasco Hakizimana, a teacher at Mutorole primary school for assaulting an 11-year-old pupil to death.

The deceased has been identified as Dan Gasore who was allegedly hit on the head & back by Hakizimana for failure to understand what was being taught.

According to ASP Elly Maate the PRO Kigezi, the incident was reported by the father of the deceased Tumusiime Hillary 35yrs a Boda Boda rider and resident of Ruburankono village Gasiza parish Nyakabande sub-county, that his son Dan Gasore 11yrs was allegedly assaulted by one Pasco.

The incident happened on 09/03/2023 at Mutorole primary school at around 1600 hours.

After being assaulted, the child went back home crying and was rushed to the clinic for treatment. However, on 11/03/2023 at around 17 00hrs, the situation worsened and the child was bleeding from the nose.

He was rushed to Kisoro hospital for further treatment where he died a few minutes upon arrival.

Maate says Police were alerted and a case was registered. The deceased’s body was taken back to the hospital for postmortem.

Police are now hunting for the teacher who is on the run.
