Masaka Reverand cries foul of MP Richard Ssebamala’s theft

It’s been seven months ever since Member of Parliament representing Bukoto Central in Masaka Hon Richard Ssebamala fled with Shs5M belonging to a church project.

The money that was part of the contribution to the roofing of the Church’s school project was taken and the construction works were paused.

According to Father Gerald Lwanga, one of the Fathers at Katinyindo children care in Masaka, Hon Ssebamala during the time of the fundraising in February asked us how much we had raised for the campaign and he said he would add the rest and purchase the iron sheets but he never fulfilled his promise.

“It has been seven months of playing hide and seek with Hon Ssebamala who keeps on telling us he is out of the country, on TV, in Parliament and sometimes busy and there are screenshots of all these conversations’’ Father Lwanga says. He goes on to say that the project came to a standstill because the people who had fundraised lost trust in him and didn’t continue with the project.

Father Gerry and all other members of the church say they will give up on Hon Ssebamala and continue on the project from scratch. Hon Ssebamala is the Member of Parliament representing Bukoto Central and he was voted into Parliament in February 2021.

He is a civil engineer, Politician and businessman who runs several businesses in Kampala and Masaka.
