Kibaale Man Seeks Help from Authorities over Repeated Beatings by Wife

Emmanuel Wandimbo, a 40-year-old man residing in Katwetwe village, Kayanja sub-county, Kibaale district has sought help from Kayanja Sub County authorities due to repeated assaults by his wife, Juliet Mwesige. Wandimbo claims that Mwesige has become unruly and beats him despite his pleas for forgiveness.

Mwesige, often returns home late from the trading centre and demands food from Wandimbo. However, when questioned about her whereabouts, she becomes violent.

On Sunday, Mwesige allegedly poured water mixed with red pepper into Wandimbo’s eyes. Wandimbo reported the matter to the local authorities, including the office of the LCI Chairperson, but has not received any help. He has now reported the case to the sub-county authorities for appropriate action.

John Byamukama, the Katwetwe LCI Chairperson, has acknowledged Mwesige’s unruly behaviour and has advised Wandimbo to seek help from the sub-county leadership.

However, Proscovia Kusiima, a resident, claims that despite attempts to counsel Mwesige, she remains violent and denies the allegations being put against her. Mwesige maintains that her husband is being misled by others in the area to chase her away from their marital home.
