Financial Empowerment Event Held By UAP Old Mutual and NSSF Uganda Highlights Retirement Planning

In a collaborative effort, UAP Old Mutual and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda organized an insightful financial education event at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel. Themed “Prosper in Retirement and Beyond,” the gathering targeted customers approaching midterm and retirement age, aiming to equip them with essential knowledge for securing their financial futures.

The event focused on promoting investment in insurance and effective asset management strategies crucial for long-term financial security, especially post-retirement. UAP Old Mutual, a comprehensive financial services provider offering insurance and asset management solutions, showcased a range of products including travel insurance, motor comprehensive insurance, unit trusts, and Somesa education policies.

The session commenced with a thought-provoking keynote address by Robert Kabushenga, Board Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance. Kabushenga highlighted the growing relevance of retirement planning, particularly among individuals aged 45 to 55, as indicated by the 2020 Financial Capability Survey by the Bank of Uganda. He stressed the importance of prudent financial planning and the role of insurance in securing a prosperous future.

Following the keynote, an engaging panel discussion featuring industry experts from the insurance and financial sectors took place. James Maguru, General Manager of UAP Old Mutual Insurance, emphasized the role of insurance as a safety net during unforeseen circumstances, providing crucial financial support.

Gerald Kasato, Acting Deputy Managing Director of NSSF Uganda, underscored the significance of prudent investment decisions for maximizing returns and ensuring long-term financial stability. He emphasized the importance of financial education in empowering individuals to take control of their financial future.

UAP Old Mutual and NSSF Uganda are committed to empowering individuals and businesses with comprehensive financial solutions. Through collaborations and financial education initiatives like this event, they aim to promote financial inclusion and security across Uganda.
