Father in trouble for smashing head of 2 months old biological baby

Police in Kitgum have arrested a man for killing his two-month-old baby during a domestic brawl with his ex-wife.

Raymond Akena is alleged to have killed the child during a nasty fight with his ex-wife Vicky Akanyo at her home, in Kaolo Cell, Namokora Sub-county on Sunday morning.
Akena reportedly hit the boy’s head on the ground.

According to Kenneth Nyero Nyok-cek the Namokora Sub-county Councillor, Akanyo ended her marriage with the suspect two months ago after a rocky relationship. However, came to her home and began fighting her over unclear reasons. In the process, Akena grabbed the baby and hit his head on the ground, killing him instantly.

Akena was also arrested by locals from the village shortly after killing the baby but was rescued by the Police from Namokora Police Post.

The baby’s body is lying at Namokora Health Centre IV pending postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death., while investigations into the matter continue.
