Equity Bank Uganda Launches Innovation Hub
Engaging attendees at the just concluded week-long transformative Equity Leaders Program (ELP) training and mentorship program held at the Equity Bank innovation hub (Ntinda) Mr. Sam Bwaya, the Board Director at Equity Group Foundation, urged the 40 exceptional university students participating in and attending it to leverage innovation and technology to create a positive impact in their lives and communities.
He stressed the need for these young people to stand out and provide technological solutions to the evolving challenges given the times we live in.
The students engaged in app development, technology challenges, and idea-sharing, and will join 400 other ELP scholars from across the region for further incubation training in Kenya.
The launch of the Equity Group Innovation Hub aligns with the Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan (ARRP) to digitize value chains for 100 million customers, requiring a pool of skilled technical talent and innovators.
The Equity Leaders Program, established in 1998, aims to create a community of transformative leaders driving sustainable economic growth and social progress in Africa.
ELP has in the past benefited over 24,000 young scholars across East Africa, empowering them academically with scholarships to access education in global universities like MIT, Yale, Harvard, and Princeton.
