Decomposed Body of Missing Woman Found in Kira, Two Arrested

Police in Kira Division have arrested two suspects in connection with a suspected murder following the recovery of a decomposed body believed to be that of Naziwa Oliver (52), a resident of Kito ‘A’, Kirinya, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

One of the suspects has been identified as Nanyonjo Rose, a biological relative of the deceased.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the case was reported on 28 April 2026 after the victim’s relatives raised concerns over her disappearance, which dates back to October 2025.

On 4 May 2026, police searched the suspects’ residence, where the body was discovered in a locked room, along with clothing identified as belonging to the deceased.

The scene was processed, statements were recorded, and the body was taken to City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Preliminary findings suggest the suspects were operating a cult-like group that discouraged medical treatment and proper burials.

Owoyesigyire warned the public against engaging in or forming illegal cults, noting that such practices endanger lives and will be dealt with firmly. Investigations are ongoing.
