Two Women Arrested in Connection with Murder of 50 year old Man
Police in Rubanda have taken two suspects into custody for questioning in connection with the alleged murder of 50-year-old Nicholas Tumuheise, also known as Kubirabe, a resident of Kakangaga Village, Kaara Parish, Muko Sub- County, Rubanda District.
The suspects are identified as Twinamasiko Jackline, 28, a resident of Rwakamu Village, Kaara Parish, Muko Sub- County, Rubanda District, and Kemigisha Robina, 38, a resident of the same area.
It is alleged that the deceased left his home on the morning of October 10, 2024, to attend a burial but did not return home. His son, who lives nearby, did not worry, as his father often returned home late.
According to Elly Maate, the PRO for Kigezi Region, the deceased was reportedly seen at around 8:00 p.m. drinking Chief Waragi with Twinamasiko Jackline at a bar owned by Keneema Feredius. They were later joined by another woman, Kemigisha Robina, and the trio left the bar one after the other around 9:00 p.m.
Maate further explained that on Friday morning, October 11, 2024, at around 7:30 a.m., Tumuheise was found dead along the path to his home, with blood oozing from his ears and mouth.
Locals immediately began searching for Twinamasiko, but she was not at her home. It was later discovered that she had spent the night at Kemigisha’s residence for reasons yet to be determined.
The village defense secretary called the police, and the two women were rescued from an angry mob that had intended to kill them. They were taken to Muko Police Station.
A postmortem was conducted, and the body was handed over to the relatives for burial. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
