Three suspects arrested over murder of security guard in Kabusu

Police in Kampala have in custody three assailants in connection with the murder of Agama Peter, a security guard affiliated with Wolves Security Group.

The 36-year-old security guard was fatally shot while on duty at Banxele Forex bureau Kabuusu branch and his firearm taken by the assailants who were traveling on motorcycles, armed with a rifle. The incident happened on Tuesday 19th March 2024.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police says the eyewitnesses told officers that the assailants acted very fast and left immediately after shooting Agama.

Law enforcement and security agencies responded immediately and initiated a pursuit of the suspects which led to their arrest at Premier Betting in the Kawaala zone.

The suspects have been identified as Sebuma Hussein, also known as Obote, Dumba David, and Abdullah Jumah, have been taken into custody. Two firearms were recovered during the operation: UG PSO 56 4000868 12452, along with 13 rounds (presumably the firearm belonging to the deceased), and another firearm, believed to have been used to commit the crime, with 10 rounds.

Owoyesigyire says the investigation into the murder is ongoing, and further details will be made available in due course. The deceased was shot three times and evidence recovered from the crime scene will be examined as part of the investigative process.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination.
