Seven perish in Kamuli accident as vehicle in Kyabazinga Royal convoy rams into subjects
Seven (7) people have died and 8 others are fighting for their lives following a traffic accident which occurred at Nawantumbi Trading centre, along Kamuli Jinja road.
The incident happened when a supercustom Motor vehicle registration number UAZ742U, which was part of the royal team of the Kyabazinga from Kamuli heading to Jinja, lost control at around 1040/C, and rammed into road side viewers.
So far, 6 of the deceased have been identified as; Isabirye Goodi 40 resident, Nawantumbi, Abbo kevin 12 resident of Nawantumbi, Waiswa Lubale 30, resident of Nalinaibi in Nawantumbi, Mutasa Ema10, resident of Nawantumbi, Nabirye Katono 37, resident of Nawantumbi and Mutakubwa Amisi, resident of Nawantumbi The seventh victim is female, and her particulars yet to be established.
ASP Kasadha Micheal, the Regional spokesperson Busoga North says 3 of the victims have been admitted at Kamuli general hospital, 3 in jinja regional referral hospital and the other 2 are in private facilities. The OC traffic Kamuli CPS visited the scene and the car is currently parked at the station pending inspection.
