Four arrested over death following altercation at Kisembi Mosque
The Police in Kampala Metropolitan area are investigating the death of one person following clashes that took place at Kisembi Mosque, Katabi Town Council, on October 2, 2023.
Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson says that the incident unfolded at 9 PM, when a conflict erupted within the Moslem community regarding mosque management affairs.
During the altercation, Kiggundu Ahmed, aged 58, was brutally assaulted by individuals known to him. However, he managed to escape and sought refuge at Kasenyi Police Station, where he filed a case and named some of his attackers.
He was then transferred to Meditech Health Center in Nkumba Bufulu. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. His remains have been transported to City Mortuary Mulago, pending a thorough postmortem examination.
According to Owoyesigyire, four individuals have been arrested and are in custody at Entebbe Police Station. “We assure the public that no stone will be left unturned during this investigation,” said the spokesperson.
