Police Investigate Murder of 16-Year-Old Chapati Maker in Tororo
The police in Tororo are investigating the murder of Mukisa Ashraf, a 16-year-old chapati maker and resident of Bison “B” Cell, Western Division, Tororo Municipality, Tororo District. The deceased was murdered by unknown assailants on 29/07/2024 at around 0500 hours in the same area.
It is alleged that the deceased was found lying dead in a pool of blood with multiple injuries on the head and neck. The body was discovered lying in the corridors opposite Total Nagongera Rd and New Life Bar. A young girl discovered the body and informed her parents, who then called the Chairperson LC1 of the area, who informed the police.
The scene was visited and documented by teams commanded by SP Sabila Sadat, the DPC of Tororo. The officers recorded statements from witnesses and conveyed the deceased’s body to Tororo General Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
According to IP Mugwe Johnson Moses, the Ag. PRO Bukedi South Region, police findings indicate that the deceased had multiple cut wounds on the head and neck. It is suspected that the deceased may have been in a bar or lodge, as there were signs of a scuffle at the scene. Mugwe stated that inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
Mugwe advised members of the public to avoid moving alone in dark or isolated places without clear visibility or CCTV cameras. He also requested anyone with information regarding the incident to share it with the police to help bring the culprits to justice.
