Nasser Ssebaggala finally laid to rest
Hundreds of mourners have showed up for the final sendoff of former Kampala Mayor Al-Haj Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala who was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kisaasi on Sunday afternoon.
Ssebaggala was buried next to his late father Sharif Al-Hajj Shaban Ssebaggala.
During the ceremony, speaker after speaker they praised him for being a very smart man despite not having been educated. They also praised him for being a great leader who brought hope to the marginalized population in Kampala.
Ssebaggala’s children introduced politicians especially those on the National Unity Platform and asked people to vote them in the 2021 General election, since the deceased was a part of the new party and had wanted to represent them at City hall again.
His heir Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala narrated some of the deceased’s last wishes before he died, saying he had hoped that he will recover and take part in the 2021 elections and was confident that he would emerge winner of the Kampala City Mayoral race.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the National Unity Platform Party- NUP President told mourners that Ssebaggala inspired many young people to become good leaders including himself and all those in Ghettos.
Kampala Lord Mayor aspirant Nabilah Ssempala used the ceremony to ask for support from mourners, arguing that it is time for women to be given a chance to lead Kampala city.
Sebaggala who died on Saturday, September 26th at International Hospital Kampala was 72 years old.
His body was laid to rest at exactly 3:00 pm. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
