Horror as Mother kills own one-year-old baby boy over lack of child support

A mother is in trouble for poisoning her own one-year-old baby to death. The woman identified as Erivanesa Kabagire in her 20s, a resident of Bwikya village in Bombo sub-county of Hoima district was arrested by the Police in Hoima.

Kabagiire is alleged to have prepared a chemical known as ambush pesticide that she served to her baby boy on January 1, 2021. 

The monstrous woman accused the child’s father of denying the child and not providing any support for them.  

The baby became unconscious after drinking the chemical and died as he was being rushed to Kigorobya health center IV for medical attention.

According to Stephen Mwijakubi the area LC1 Chairperson, he alerted police immediately after the child’s death and they swung into action and arrested the child’s mother.  

The Albertine region police spokesperson Julius Hakiza, says police rushed and picked the child’s body and conveyed it to Hoima City mortuary for postmortem. 

The postmortem report indicates that the child was served with poison that eventually led to his death.  

The body was later handed over to the relatives for burial arrangements as the mother remains in custody at Hoima central police station on murder charges.
