Horror as 60 year old man kills two children, injures their grand mother
There are horrific scenes in Rwenfunjo village Rwetango Masha sub-county in Isingiro district where a 60-year-old casual worker identified as Peter Bahama has burnt two children to death before killing himself in arson.
The victims are; Joshua Tumushabe 10, and Shallon Nabasa 7 which their grandmother Annah Kiryabaho escaped with injuries.
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi regional police spokesperson, the incident occurred on Thursday night when Bahama, 60, attacked the home of Kiryabaho and cut her several times on the head using a panga, leaving her in critical condition.
Kasasira says Bahama upon thinking that Kiryabaho had died, took her two grandchildren to his house, murdered them, cut himself on the neck and set the house ablaze.
The killer weapon was recovered by the homicide police squad and also managed to retrieve the three bodies which were taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile the survivor who is unconscious, has also been admitted to Mbarara regional referral hospital where she is nursing injuries sustained from the attack.
Resident claim Bahama has been a humble and calm neighbor who has left everyone in shock.
