4 new COVID-19 related deaths registered on October 1st
Ministry of Health has released results of COVID-19 tests done on 01 October 2020 indicating 4 new deaths and 204 new cases, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases are 8,491.
The 4 COVID-19 deaths registered include 3 from Kampala and 1 from Bududa. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 79. The country also has 4,470 recoveries.
The 204 new cases include 197Contacts and Alerts from the following areas; Kampala (68), Agago (37), Kapchorwa (11), Busia (10), Kween (9), Namisindwa (6), Jinja (5), Omoro (5), Bududa (5), Buliisa (4), Gulu (4), Mukono (3), Sironko (3), Wakiso (3), Yumbe (5), Butaleja (2), Mbale (2) and Soroti (2).
Other cases are from; Adjumani (1), Amuru (1), Arua (1), Budaka (1), Kagadi (1), Kaliro (1), Kibuku (1), Koboko (1), Kyotera (1), Lira (1),
Masindi (1) and Tororo (2).
Also, 6 returnees from: UAE (2), Saudi Arabia (1), South Sudan (1), Oman (1), DRC (1) and 1 truck driver at the Elegu Point of Entry.
Uganda started receiving tourists and citizens who were stuck abroad on 1st October following the Presidential directive. Also, Ugandans able to travel to different countries whose borders are open, through Entebbe International airport.
However, the land points of entry are still closed and buses full of people from different neighboring countries were blocked at different points of entry.
