2 deaths, 128 new COVID-19 Cases confirmed on Saturday
The ministry of health has confirmed that 2 more COVID-19 deaths and128 were confirmed from 4,653 samples that were tested on Saturday 5th September 2020.
According to the ministry, the deaths were registered in Kampala and Jinja. This brings to 41 the total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda and 3,667 total cases.
120 of the confirmed cases are contacts and alerts. 95 of these are in Kampala, 13 in Wakiso, 3 in Luweero, 2 in Nwoya, 1 in Amuru, 1 in Jinja, 1 in Kanungu, 1 in Manafwa, 1 in Maracha, 1 in Soroti and 1 in Zombo districts.
Meanwhile, 7 health workers from Kampala, Lira, Wakiso and Mityana tested positive for COVID-19. Only 1 truck driver tested positive at Elegu point of entry.
Also, 1 Rwandan truck driver who tested positive at Mirama hills was turned away.
On Friday 4th September 2020, Uganda registered 4 deaths, the highest so far.
Currently, Uganda has 3,667 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 41 deaths and 1,564 recoveries.
