Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda Sparks Change With Anti-Drug Event At Nabisunsa Girls School
On October 4, 2024, Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda, a group dedicated to empowering young people and addressing the rising issue of drug and alcohol abuse, held an impactful event at Nabisunsa Girls School.
The auditorium was packed with enthusiastic students who engaged with passionate mentors, all eager to tackle one of the toughest challenges facing today’s youth—substance abuse.
Unlike a typical lecture, Topowa’s visit was an eye-opening, interactive session filled with candid discussions, a powerful Q&A, and a drama performance that vividly highlighted the dangers of drugs. The performance presented the risks in a raw and relatable way, urging students to make informed decisions and take control of their futures by rejecting harmful substances.
“It was such an empowering experience,” shared one student. “I feel more confident in standing up against peer pressure now.”
The event aimed to spark change, not just within the school, but also in the wider community. By raising awareness and encouraging students to serve as role models for their peers, Topowa is creating a ripple effect that could shape a healthier, drug-free generation.
And this is only the beginning—Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda has more schools lined up as part of their nationwide campaign to inspire lasting change.
