Rukiga Man Arrested for Allegedly Defiling 6-Year-Old Daughter

The police in Rukiga have in custody Fosta Twizemana, a herdsman from Kayebe Cell, Kigara Parish, Kamwezi Sub County, in Rukiga District, for allegedly defiling his 6-year-old biological daughter.

It is alleged that Twizemana, a Rwandan national, committed the crime on 26/07/2024 at the farm where he was grazing cattle. According to Elly Maate, the PRO Kigezi Region, the suspect went to the farm with his wife, Veneranda Baresirente, 40, and their two daughters, aged 2 and 6.

While at the farm, Twizemana allegedly called the children over to his side, which was away from their mother. Upon their arrival, he sent the 2-year-old away and then defiled the 6-year-old victim. After the act, he sent the child back to her mother.

The child appeared to have difficulty walking, which prompted her mother to check on her. She discovered blood stains on the child’s thighs.

Maate says that upon questioning, the child revealed that she had been defiled by her father. The mother immediately reported the incident to Kamwezi Police Station. The suspect was arrested and transferred to CPS Rukiga for further investigation.

Maate described the act as barbaric and unacceptable, noting that parents have a duty to protect their children, not harm them. Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect will be arraigned in court to face charges.
