President Museveni Honors Heroic Boda Boda Rider with Nalubaale Medal
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, presented Mr. Abdul Katabaazi with the Nalubaale Medal at State House Entebbe today during a cabinet meeting.
The Nalubaale Medal is bestowed by H.E. The President of the Republic of Uganda upon civilian activists who have contributed to the political development of Uganda, either through armed struggle or civil disobedience, as outlined in section 3 of the National Honours and Awards Act of 2001, as amended.
Mr. Katabaazi, a plumber and motorcycle rider in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division, bravely pursued and captured the assailants who fatally shot Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the leader of Buganda Kingdom’s Endiga Clan on Sunday, February 25th, 2024.
Eng. Bbosa, aged 72, also served as the director of Transa Electrical and was gunned down in his car as he approached his home in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division. During the meeting, Mr. Katabaazi recounted to President Museveni how he, alongside other boda boda riders, pursued and apprehended the assassins.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, the President of Uganda, for acknowledging me with this medal and providing me with the opportunity to meet you,” Mr. Katabaazi expressed.
President Museveni praised Mr. Katabaazi for his courage and commitment to the noble cause. “I extend my congratulations to you; you have performed a heroic deed. You have now joined the ranks of bush war fighters like me,” President Museveni remarked.
The President additionally pledged to recognize and support other boda boda men who participated in apprehending the assassins.
