Crew members, civilian killed in UPDF Helicopter Gunship crash

Crew members, along with one civilian, have died in a Helicopter Gunship crash that occurred on Tuesday afternoon around 2:00 pm in the general areas of Karugutu-Ntoroko District.

Brig. Gen Felix Kulayigye, the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces Spokesperson, confirmed the death of the civilian who owned the house crashed by the helicopter. However, he did not disclose the identities of the deceased crew members and the civilian.

“Experts shall investigate the details of the accident. Identities of the crew shall be made available after informing the next of kin,” said Kulayigye.

He acknowledged that the crew members are heroes who sacrificed their lives in the struggle to pacify the UPDF’s western frontier against the ADF terrorists.

The UPDF spokesperson expressed condolences for the tragic incident and assured a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
