Ashlei Watson’s Inspirational Uganda Visit: Empowering Youth and Women for a Brighter Future”

[Uganda, 19th October 2024] – Ashlei Watson, the celebrated beauty queen and dedicated philanthropist, embarked on her inaugural visit to Uganda to commemorate the launch of the “Pivoting in Heels” coffee table book. The event, held at the illustrious Le Chateau in Kabalagala, was a tribute to exceptional women who have significantly impacted society, including Ashlei herself.

Accompanied by her mother and manager, Denise Jenkins, who co-founded the Ashlei Watson Foundation, Ashlei seized this moment to shed light on her ongoing initiatives in Uganda. Throughout the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, she personally provided nourishment to underprivileged single mothers in Kamwokya, financing the endeavor from her own resources. Ashlei’s collaboration with the Miss Uganda Foundation was instrumental in the success of this altruistic mission.

Notably, Ashlei has been fervently combating period poverty by partnering with the Sheeba Karungi Foundation. Her efforts encompassed the donation of menstrual hygiene products to disadvantaged girls, thereby enabling them to remain in school and pursue their aspirations.

In addition, Ashlei joined hands with the Acts Fund to offer mental health training to 2500 teachers in Kampala. This initiative, organized by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), aimed to equip educators with the essential tools to support the mental well-being of their students.

Beyond her benevolent endeavors, Ashlei has proudly represented Uganda as Miss Global Uganda 2021, a remarkable feat achieved during the pageant held in Bali. Currently, she continues to carry Uganda’s banner as Miss Continental Europe in Italy.

Ashlei’s connection to Uganda deepened when her DNA test revealed her ancestral ties to the country. With unwavering determination to leave a positive imprint, she harnesses the influence of her beauty crowns and platforms to empower Ugandan communities through the Ashlei Watson Foundation.

The Ashlei Watson Foundation employs a diverse array of methods to realize its profound impact, including mentorship, poetry, motivational discourse, inspirational training, Biblical faith, and personal financial guidance.
