British National dies at Masindi hotel while touring Uganda
Police in Masindi are investigating the sudden death of a British National Katelia Khushid Banu a 37year old resident of 15 Greystone Avenue Leicester Le5 6SF Britain UK, passport No.563656230.
The incident happened at Masindi Hotel Manager today 30th January 2023.
According to Asp Hakiza Julius Allan Regional the PRO Albertine, the hotel manager Opio Esau who reported the case to the police said that the deceased booked into the facility on 29th January 2023 for accommodation with nine other relatives as tourists.
“At around 2000/c the deceased ate vegetable soup for supper and at around 2350/ hours, she entered room number 11 where she had booked for a night. However, at about 0000/hours on 30th January 2023, while her relatives were still out chatting they heard an alarm from her bathroom,” says Hakiza.
He adds that the group responded immediately and found her on the floor but she explained to them that she showered normally but shortly after dressing up, she fell.
“They supported her and she sat outside with them before asking them to take her back into her room to sleep. Upon entering her room, she collapsed and died immediately.”
The deceased’s relatives say she was on treatment for high blood pressure and Diabetes. They believe this could have shortened her life.
Katelia and her relatives travelled to Uganda on 16th January 2023 and they had been in Kampala till 29th January 2023 when they travelled to Masindi.
