56 year old woman strangled to death in Rukungiri

The Police in Rukungiri is investigating circumstances under which a 56 years old woman was strangled to death in Omukasheregyenyi Trading Centre.

Elly Maate the police Spokesperson Kigezi Region identifies the deceased as one Nyirabanga Siyadora a 56-year-old resident of Rushaya A cell Bwambara parish /sub county Rukungiri district.

According to Maate, the deceased left John Thursday’s bar at Omukasheregyenyi Trading centre going home on 28/1/2021 at about 2100hrs. She allegedly, left with Farasisiko Ntamaramiro, Immaculate Taculitimana, Ngabirano Joseph, Tumuhimbise  olivious all of the same address.

However, the next day on 29/01/2021 at around 04:00hrs, Siyadora was found dead at about a distance of 100metres from the said T/centre, lying in eucalyptus tree plantation with marks of strangulation on the neck.

The matter was reported by her husband Farasisiko Ntamaramiro who had been part of the group that left the bar.

“The chairman lc1 of the said cell Mugabe Godfrey notified the police which visited the scene. The said group that parted with the deceased was asked for an explanation in vain and were arrested to assist police in investigations” Maate says.

The body was taken to Rwakabengo Hc 3 pending postmortem, while inquiries are underway to establish the motive.
