Uganda Police are on the lookout for Hakiim Twiine, aged 29, who is wanted on charges of engaging in homosexuality, a violation of Ugandan laws as stipulated in Article 19 of the Uganda Constitution. Twiine’s photo is provided below for identification.
The incident unfolded on November 9, 2023, when Twiine was apprehended at Namugongo LC1 after being discovered in an intimate act with another man, identified as Bashir Musiime, by Twiine’s wife. The shocking discovery prompted her to alert local authorities, leading to Twiine’s arrest and subsequent detention by the police at Kira Police Station.
Released on police bond on November 10, 2023, Twiine was required to report to the police weekly as his case was being processed for court proceedings. However, he failed to comply, disappearing without fulfilling his reporting obligations.
