Two suspected Motorcycle thieves killed by mob in Mukono

Police in Mukono are investigating circumstances under which two men were beaten to death by the mob.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy spokesperson KMP says the two men were found lying dead on the ground. However, inquiries indicate that they were suspected by residents to be motorcycle thieves. The incident happened on Friday around Kigomya in Mukono district.

“They were beaten by the community, on allegations of trying to steal a motorcycle” Owoyesigyire said, adding that the bodies have been conveyed to Kawolo Hospital for postmortem.

He warned members of the public against taking laws into their hands, warning that the case will be investigated as a murder and police hope to arrest all the culprits.

Owoyesigyire says the public should always inform the police about such thugs so they can be arrested, instead of killing them.
