Two guns, 38 rounds of ammunition recovered in Moroto, Kotido districts
Police in Moroto district have recovered one SMG with bold carrier No.3400 and 27 ammunitions from Nakamistae village, Nakamistae Parish, Nadunget sub-county in Moroto District.
The gun was recovered following an intelligence-led search operation where two suspects were also arrested today Thursday.
AIP Mike Longole the Ag. PRO Mt Moroto identified the suspects as Loborio Kerisa a 40-year-old resident of Lolemupal village, Kaloe parish, Nadunget sub-county in Moroto district, and Lochugai Sagal Male Juvenile 17 years, a resident of Lokorito cell, Lokilala ward, Nadunget town council, Moroto district.
Longole says the two suspects are currently held at Moroto Police station.
In a related development, another SMG riffle No 48005165 with 11 rounds of ammunition has been recovered.
The gun belongs to Lokuto Philip Resident of Kalukori village, Kalokiel Parish, Nakapelemoru sub-county in Kotido district.
Longole says the gun was recovered by Joint security forces in an operation carried out today Thursday.
This brings the total number of guns recovered in USALAMA KWA WOTE DISARMAMENT OPERATION in Karamoja to 164 and 1792 ammunition.
