Police hunt for Fuso driver who killed Hoima LCV Chairman & his escort

A dark cloud has covered Hoima District after the LCV chairman Kirungi Kadiri was killed in an accident along with his escort Police Constable Otim Bosco.   

The accident happened last night 17/03/23 at about 2200/C at Mataagi village, Bukomero Town council along Kampala – Hoima highway in Kiboga District.

It involved motor vehicles registration number UAH 053Q Prado Land cruiser and UBB 059Z a Fuso fighter.

ASP Faridah Nampiima the PRO Traffic says that the Fuso which was travelling from Kampala heading to Kiboga side driven by yet to be identified driver who fled from the scene, on reaching Mataagi bridge, tried to dodge a pothole.

The vehicle swerved off from its lane onto the right-hand side and met the Prado which was heading to Kampala side from Hoima and was being driven by Kadiri, the Chairman LC5 Hoima District.

The vehicles made a head-on collision killing Kadiri and his escort on spot.

The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Kiboga hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. The police are now hunting for the Fuso driver.
