Police hunt for armed robbers who shot, and killed security guard at a fuel station

The police are searching for unknown gunmen who shot and killed a private security guard and injured a fuel pump attendant in Bulambuli district.

According to Rogers Taitika the Elgon Region Police spokesperson, the attack occurred at Komangus pump fuel station in Muyembe trading Center in Bulambuli district around 8:30 pm on Monday.  

The deceased guard has been identified as Moses Okweri, 40 years and the injured pump attendant as Pius,26-years of age. 

Taitika told reporters that the thugs shot Okweri in the head while Pius was hit in the stomach, before taking off with Okweri’s gun.

The guard was pronounced dead on arrival at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital while Pius is battling for his life at the same facility. Officers visited the scene and recovered spent cartridges.
