One person killed, another injured as police officers arrest thugs that robbed Late Archbishop Lwanga’s residence
The police at Old Kampala are investigating a shooting incident that happened today at around 1300hrs at Namayiba Bus Park which left one person dead and another one dead.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, it is alleged that the shooting happened when the security task team was carrying out additional arrests connected to the aggravated robbery that took place at the home of the Late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, which happened at Kyabakadde village, Kyabakadde Parish in Kyampisi Sub-county, Mukono District on the 16th/04/2021.
During the arrest, officers allegedly faced stiff resistance from the colleagues of the suspects, which led to the use of firearms.
Two persons one identified as Semanda Bob Ibrahim and another yet to be identified were injured and rushed to Mulago Hospital and Divine Clinic.
Unfortunately, Semanda succumbed to his injuries and his body has been conveyed to Kampala Capital City Authority mortuary at Mulago for a postmortem.
Owoyesigyire says efforts are underway, to have the officers arrested and the gun recovered as inquiries continue.
