One Killed as Three Women are Electrocuted in Buikwe

The territorial police in Buikwe District are investigating the circumstances under which three people were electrocuted.

The incident in Katungulu Village, Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe District.

According to SP Butoto Hellen PRO, Ssezibwa Region, it is alleged that on February 15, 2025, at around 18:50 hours, Batamulira Richard, the Chairman of LCI Katungulu Village, received a phone call from a resident informing him about the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Awori Janipher a 24-year-old female resident of Katungulu Village, Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe District.

The two victims who were left in critical condition are Nakafero Margaret, and another only identified as Mama Nkoko.

The women were hanging washed clothes on a clothesline they usually use.

Butoto says that the victims were rushed to Kawolo Hospital for treatment, while the deceased’s body was handed over to Kawolo Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
