Museveni Mourns Second Prime Minister Kivejinja
President Yoweri Museveni has mourned the passing of the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Kirunda Kivejinja.
While addressing NRM leaders in Hoima on Friday evening, Mr. Museveni the ruling party’s presidential candidate said Ugandans should heed calls from Ministry of health and wear masks, social distance and sanitize frequently to avoid COVID19.
“Now, Kivejinja has also died. Please wear your masks and sanitized to avoid COVID19” he said.
Kivejinja who died Saturday evening at Mulago hospital where he has been under treatment for a month, succumbed to COVID19.
Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda also confirmed Kivejinja’s passing.
“We have learnt with deep sadness the passing of our elder, friend and comrade, 2nd Deputy PM Alhajji Ali Kirunda Kivejinja” he wrote on social media.
Rugunda added that Kivejinja’s passing is a huge loss to the country, of a great Pan Africanist & repository of the country’s history and journey of social, political and Economic transformation.
