Military, Police raid NUP Offices in Kampala
Military and police officers have Wednesday afternoon raided the National Unity Platform head offices in Kamwokya and confiscated some documents.
According to the Party President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the security operatives broke into their offices and took away valuable documents and other items.
“Some comrades have been injured. The partisanship of security agencies ahead of the election is stinking” Kyagulanyi said on Twitter.
Party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi wondered why their NRM are so scared of the NUP activities that they will panic and do such “despicable” things.
“It’s interesting what fear does to people. It causes them to panic and do despicable things. Uganda’s regime is in fear, it’s scared of Ugandans who are hungry for change, but whatever evil they do only emboldens us.Nothing, and I mean nothing, can stop an idea whose time has come!” Ssenyonyi wrote.
Police remains tight lipped about the raid, but they had started leaving by press time.
