Gomba: Father Arrested for Aggravated Defilement of Three Daughters
Police in Gomba District have arrested a 56-year-old man, identified as Kiyemba Isa, a resident of Kampungu Village, Kanoni Town Council, for allegedly defiling his three biological daughters, aged 14, 15, and 16.
The victims, who have different mothers, have reportedly been living with their father since he separated from their mothers. According to the girls, who spoke to authorities under confidentiality, the abuse began in July 2024 and continued until December 2024. They further alleged that their father threatened to harm them if they revealed the abuse.
The incidents are said to have occurred on multiple occasions, both at the suspect’s residence and in his car during trips to Kampala. SP Majid Karim, the Katonga Region Police spokesperson, disclosed that the abuse came to light when one of the girls confided in her sister while they were working in the garden. This led the other two sisters to share their experiences, confirming that all three had been victimized.
One of the victims had earlier informed her mother, who had urged her to report the matter to the police. However, the girl had not acted on the advice at the time. On January 15, 2025, the girls resolved to escape from their home and report the matter to the authorities. They also left a written note with a neighbour, identified only as Ninsiima, explaining the challenges they were facing. The neighbour immediately informed one of their mothers, who subsequently reported the case to the police.
Medical examinations conducted at Kanoni Health Center III confirmed evidence consistent with sexual abuse. The findings, recorded on Police Form 3A, revealed physical injuries corroborating the victims’ accounts. A case of Aggravated Defilement has been formally registered under SD Ref 28/16/01/2025 and entered into the Criminal Records Book (CRB) as KNN CRB 047/2025. Police have recorded statements from the complainant, and the victims have been interviewed.
The suspect is currently in police custody, awaiting further interrogation and a medical examination as part of the ongoing investigation. SP Majid reaffirmed the police’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims, emphasizing that no one would be allowed to interfere with the case.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to gather additional evidence to strengthen the case against the suspect.
