Four Suspects Arrested in Kabale Robbery Spree

The police at Kabale CPS have in custody four suspects connected to a series of robberies reported in the area on November 26, 2024.

Following the reports, Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional PRO, stated that police conducted an operation at Ibaare Cell, Rushaki Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, and arrested four suspects believed to be part of a gang terrorizing the community.

The suspects have been identified as Niwagaba Brian, alias Kajungu Saison; Owomugisha Michael, alias Kiboneire; Arinda Derrick; and Arinaitwe Ignatius, alias Marvin.

The four are implicated in a case where Mbabazi Rogers was attacked on his way home and robbed of three mobile phones on November 18, 2024, along Mutebire Road. The case is registered under reference SD Ref. 38/18/11/2024 at Kabale CPS.

“So far, we have recovered two of the three mobile phones. The missing phone is alleged to be with one Innocent Niwandinda, alias Inno, who is still at large. Intelligence is actively working to apprehend Innocent and another suspect, Mathias, who allegedly manipulates stolen phones by removing patterns and changing serial numbers, making it difficult for trackers to trace the devices,” said Maate.

He added that similar operations will continue to reduce criminal activities in the area.

Maate also urged community members to enhance neighborhood watch efforts and report suspicious individuals to the relevant authorities before incidents escalate.
